Berberis thunbergii 'Monry' CPBR #3487 is commonly referred to as Sunsation® Japanese Barberry. This is a compact, rounded, gold barberry that has an orange cast through the season. It provides a dramatic contrast to surrounding evergreen shrubs. Showy red fruit appear in fall which adds additional beauty. In autumn leaves turn a warm yellow.
Sunsation® Japanese Barberry enjoys full to part sun and adapts well to dry and evenly moist soils. It does not tolerate standing water. It can be drought tolerant once established and can do well in city environments.
